The Reichsbahn Sportgemeinschaft Posen (also called RSG Posen ) was a short-lived German sports club based in the city of Posen in occupied Poland during the Second World War .

history

For the 1941/42 season , the RSG took part in the Gauliga Wartheland for the first time . There the club was grouped into season 1 and reached fourth place at the end of the season. At the end of the season, however, the team withdrew and voluntarily accepted relegation. With the withdrawal, the team rose to fifth place, so Post SG Posen was no longer relegated . On May 9, 1943, the club competed in qualifying for the Tschammerpokal 1943 at home against the BSG DWM Posen and lost the game with 1: 6. For the 1943/44 season , the club rose again to the first division and secured sixth place with 11:19 points. No more games could be started for the next season. At the latest after the end of the war and the reconquest of the Wartheland by the Red Army , the association was then dissolved.
