The Reich Law Gazette of the Frankfurt National Assembly was a publication of the emerging German Empire from 1848/1849 . It was the first comprehensive legal gazette in Germany .

A separate publication appeared to be necessary for the promulgation of orders from the Provisional Central Authority and the promulgation of imperial laws by the German National Assembly . In the submission for the debate on the introduction of a regular Reichsgesetzblatt one refrained from irregularly appearing leaflets or the publication of laws in newspapers. In particular, the use of the legal gazettes published in the federal states was rejected because this would not correspond to the claimed superior position of the Reich authorities. The paper was published by the Reich Minister of Justice.

A total of eighteen editions of the Reichsgesetzblatt appeared. The last one is dated June 7, 1849.

In the edition of April 28, 1849, the constitution of the German Empire , which had been promulgated by the National Assembly on March 28, 1849, was promulgated exactly one month earlier . However, due to the lack of support from most of the princes, it was not effective. After the unlawful dissolution of the National Assembly, the publication of this Reich Law Gazette also ended.
