The company has existed since 1989. In its current form, it was created in 2001 as a merger of the Reifen-Center GmbH from Hanover and the Tyrex Reifen-Center GmbH (formerly Autoreparatur Heiko Knigge GmbH) from Bielefeld . Both companies have been operating as Reifencom GmbH since 2012. The company based in Bielefeld acts as a group that holds 100 percent of the shares in Reifencom GmbH, based in Hanover. Both companies operate a joint purchasing company (50% each). The new Reifencom GmbH was finally created in 2018 through the merger of the two Reifencom tire trading companies and the joint Reifencom purchasing company. At the same time, the headquarters were relocated from Bielefeld to Hanover.

The company's products and services are sold both in the online shop and in branches at a total of 37 locations. Orders from the online shop can also be delivered directly to the branches. Reifencom GmbH operates a logistics center in Hildesheim , among others . Internationally, the company's offer is made available via reifenshop.at ( Austria ), pneuexperte.ch ( Switzerland ), bonspneus.fr ( France ), 123gomme.it ( Italy ) and daekekspert.dk ( Denmark ).
