Reimo S. Wukounig
Reimo Serge Wukounig (born March 5, 1943 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian painter.
Wukounig grew up in Sankt Kanzian am Klopeiner See . From 1962 to 1967 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (with Sergius Pauser ). From 1974 to 1979 he worked as an assistant professor at the University of Applied Arts, and later at the Graphic Education and Research Institute. Wukounig took part in the Venice Biennale in 1976. In 1988 he received the City of Vienna Prize for Fine Arts . Wukounig's pictorial worlds, which were trained by Francis Bacon, are sometimes experienced as disturbing.
The painter lives and works in Vienna.
