Reiner Kurth (born July 20, 1951 in Kirchmöser , Westhavelland district , GDR ) is a former German racing canoeist who competed for the GDR.

Reiner Kurth began with 14 years in the BSG Lok Kirchmöser in Brandenburg (Havel) to the canoe racing and was 17 years old Spartakiadesieger in K2. When he was drafted into the NVA , he moved to ASK Vorwärts Potsdam in 1969 .

In 1969 he won the GDR championship over K1 and K2. In 1970 it was the championship title in K1 and runner-up in K2, both over 1000 m. At the Canoe Racing World Championships in Belgrade in 1971 , he and his partner Alexander Slatnow became world champion over 1000 m in K2 , for which he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze. A year later, both finished 4th at the Summer Olympics in Munich .

Reiner Kurth lives in Potsdam.
