Reiner Wittkowski

Reiner Wittkowski (born January 10, 1954 in Mahlow ) is a German food chemist who was Vice President of the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment until his retirement in September 2019 .

Life

Wittkowski studied food chemistry at the Technical University of Berlin , where he passed the state examination in 1979 and received his doctorate in 1984 . After a short work at the Institute for Toxicology and Embryonic Pharmacology at the Free University of Berlin , Wittkowski moved to Davis at the University of California . In 1995 he became a professor in food chemistry after von Pettenkofer Institute Max he of the Federal Health Office on dioxin as well as wine had worked and other drinks. From 1998 to 2003 he headed the analytics group at the Federal Institute for Consumer Health Protection and Veterinary Medicine . In 2003 he became an adjunct professor at the TU Berlin and Vice President of the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment.
