Reinhard Ellger

Reinhard Ellger (born May 30, 1953 ) is a German lawyer and university professor .

Life

He studied at the Studium generale at the Leibniz Kolleg (academic year 1973/74), law at the University of Tübingen and the University of Geneva (1975–1976) and at the University of Pennsylvania Law School 1978/1979. After receiving his doctorate in the Faculty of Law at the University of Hamburg in 1989 and his habilitation from the Faculty of Law in Hamburg in 2000 (teaching license: civil law, commercial and economic law, European law, international private law, comparative law), he was a lecturer in civil law at the Faculty of Law, University of Hamburg from 1999 to 2000. He represented the chair for civil law, commercial, corporate and economic law at the Law Faculty of the University of Leipzig in the 2001 summer semester.

His main research interests are German and European civil, commercial and economic law, including international private law; in particular information society law; Commercial law of telecommunications and electronic media, data protection law.
