Reinhard Gramm (born May 10, 1961 in Gütersloh ) is a German musician and composer. He works as a trombonist in the trombone department of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hanover , as well as a composer and arranger for various groups.

Career

Reinhard Gramm was born in Gütersloh as the third of four children of the married couple Walter and Irmgard Gramm (née Arndt). He studied school music (teaching post for secondary level I) and biology at Bielefeld University, instrumental pedagogy ( trombone major ) at the Detmold University of Music and church music at the University of Church Music of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia . From 1987 on he worked as a church musician and trombonist in Gütersloh and Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock. Since 2003 he has been the responsible state trombonist for the Stade district (identical to the Stade district ) in the trombone work of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hanover .

The first compositions were written in 1972 for piano. In the meantime, the focus of his compositional activity is on music for brass instruments. Gramm combines different styles in all of his works, with the search for unusual timbres being his trademark.

His duties as a state trombonist include visits to the trombone choir, the management of courses and leisure time, the church music D and C training in the field of wind choir conducting, advice on sheet music and instrument issues, the issuing of sheet music and sound carriers, planning and implementation of state trombone festivals and editorial work for the trombone choir magazine . Reinhard Gramm has been a member of the EPiD's Public Committee since 2004. In 2010, Gramm aroused media interest with his German Football Fanfare 2010 for Vuvuzela and brass quartet.

At the 2015 Kirchentag in Stuttgart, the Brassoratorium Anne - So That We Can Be Smart was premiered. Gramm composed nine pieces of music between which text passages are read that come from his wife's pen. After its world premiere, the piece was performed over 20 more times across Germany.
