Reinhard Greger
Reinhard Greger (born August 20, 1946 in Erlangen ) is a German lawyer and former professor at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg .
Life
Greger studied law at the University of Erlangen from 1966 . In 1972 he completed his studies with the first state examination in law, the second state examination took place in 1975. In 1978 he also received his doctorate in Erlangen under Karl-Heinz Schwab . After receiving his doctorate, he worked for a short time as an assistant at the chair of his doctoral supervisor, but soon switched to the Bavarian judiciary, where he first worked at the Bavarian State Ministry of Justice , later at the Munich II public prosecutor's office and as a judge at the Munich I regional court . In 1980 he returned to the State Ministry of Justice, but then moved again to the Regional Court of Munich I, where he became chairman of a chamber for commercial matters and a criminal chamber.
In 1993 Greger was appointed to the Federal Court of Justice, where he became a member of the Second Civil Senate there. However, he gave up his position as federal judge just three years later and accepted a call from his home university. From 1996 he held the chair for civil law, civil procedural law and voluntary jurisdiction in Erlangen, which his doctoral supervisor Schwab had already held at the time. In 2003, Greger co-founded the Institute for Legal Law and Legal Practice in Erlangen. In 2007 Greger started part-time working for old age. His successor was Jürgen Stamm .
