Jürgen Stamm

Jürgen Stamm (* 1968 in Lippstadt ) is a German lawyer and professor at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg .

Life

Stamm studied law at the Universities of Münster and Bochum from 1990 and graduated in 1995 with the first state examination in law. Since 1992 he has been a research assistant, after passing the first state examination as a research assistant at the chair of Berthold Kupisch , where he received his doctorate in 1996 . His dissertation was awarded the Harry Westermann Prize from the University of Münster. This was followed by the legal clerkship in Bochum and in 1998 the second state examination.

Stamm then worked as a lawyer in Bochum and Cologne, where he and colleagues founded a law firm in 2000. During his work as a lawyer, he was already working on his habilitation thesis, which he completed in 2006 with Helmut Rüßmann in Saarbrücken . After being awarded the venia legendi for the subjects of civil law, civil procedural law, international procedural law and labor law, Stamm took up his first professorship at the University of Tübingen . He stayed there for two years before changing to the chair for civil law, civil procedure law, insolvency law and voluntary jurisdiction at the University of Erlangen in 2008 as the successor to the retired Reinhard Greger .

Jürgen Stamm is married and has two children. His main research interests are in private construction and architects law (for which he previously worked as a specialist lawyer) and civil procedural law.
