Reinhard Kallenbach

Reinhard Kallenbach (born August 30, 1963 in Koblenz ) is a German journalist and author .

Life

After graduating from the Eichendorff-Gymnasium in Koblenz in 1983 , Kallenbach studied history, prehistory and early history, art history and German studies in Marburg and Würzburg from 1984 to 1989 with a degree: MA Afterwards, from 1989 to 1990 he completed an internship at the publishing house for advertising papers at the Koblenzer Local Gazette Schängel and Neuwied Rundschau.

After completing his internship, Kallenbach worked as a freelance author and publisher from 1991 to 2003, including for the city administration of Koblenz and for the United Waterworks Middle Rhine. In 1991 the cooperation with the Rhein-Zeitung began . From 1994 to 1996 he was an editor in the press office of the Chamber of Crafts in Koblenz . From October 2003 to September 2013 he was editor of the Rhein-Zeitung. Since October he has been working full-time at his company Garwain eK, which he has been running part-time since 2003 (the history of the company goes back to 1997). In 2007 Kallenbach completed his second dissertation project. With the thesis "Life and Suffering in Koblenz" he received his doctorate from the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

Kallenbach's work focuses on the topics of regional history and the preservation of monuments, architecture and urban planning, economic, administrative and technical history, and regional economic, university and cultural reporting.

In 2006 he was awarded the journalist prize of the Volks- und Raiffeisenbanken.
