Reinhard Kirste

Reinhard Kirste (* 1942 in Berlin ) is a Protestant theologian and religious scholar who has emerged as an author on topics of interreligious dialogue.

Life and work

Kirste studied Protestant theology and religious education from 1961 to 1966 at the universities in Berlin, Tübingen and Göttingen. He did his doctorate in theology with Helmut Gollwitzer in Berlin. From 1966 to 1970 Kirste worked as vicar and pastor in Berlin at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church , in the Queen Luise community in Schöneberg, for the Galilee community in Neukölln and the Martha community in Kreuzberg . From 1970 to 1975 Kirste was parish priest in Hildesheim-Marienrode . There he also took a lectureship at the University of Education Hildesheim, today's University of Hildesheim Foundation . From 1975 to 2005 Reinhard Kirste worked as a school clerk for teacher training in Protestant religious teaching in the church districts of Iserlohn and Lüdenscheid-Plettenberg. He also took on teaching assignments for the Technical University of Dortmund and the Ruhr University in Bochum .

Reinhard Kirste is married.

In 1989 he was a co-founder and has been the coordinator of the Interreligious Office (INTR ° A) eV in Nachrodt / Westphalia since then.
