Reinhard Rauschenberg

Reinhard Rauschenberg (born October 25, 1879 in Günsterode ; † February 24, 1953 there ) was a German trade unionist and social democratic politician .

Life

Rauschenberg worked full-time as a miner until 1919 . Between 1903 and 1933 he was chairman of the SPD in Wattenscheid . From 1909 he was also a member of the board of the branch of the free trade union miners' association . A year later he was also elected miners.

During the November Revolution , Rauschenberg was chairman of the workers 'and soldiers' council in Wattenscheid. His main job was from 1919 to around 1924 as secretary of the miners' association in Wattenscheid. He also held other honorary positions. Among other things, he was chairman of the administrative body of the Essen Treuhandstelle for miners 'housing, chairman of the miners' settlement in Bochum and Gelsenkirchen and a committee member of the Ruhrsiedlungsverband . Between 1924 and 1933 Rauschenberg was director of the municipal welfare office in Wattenscheid.

Rauschenberg was a member of the Prussian state constituent assembly between 1919 and 1921 . He was also a member of the city council in Wattenscheid and in the district council of the Bochum district from 1919 to 1924 . Between 1919 and 1933 Rauschenberg was also a member of the Westphalia Provincial Parliament and was its deputy chairman between 1919 and 1932. Between 1927 and 1932 he was a deputy member of the Prussian State Council . During the Nazi era he was temporarily imprisoned. He was imprisoned in Sachsenhausen concentration camp in 1944 as part of the grate action .

After 1945 he lived as a pensioner in Günsterode and was chairman of the SPD there until 1953.
