Reinhold Gartner

Reinhold Gärtner (born January 22, 1955 in Steyr ) is an Austrian political scientist .

Gärtner studied history and English for teaching and political education . From 1988 to 2001 he was a lecturer at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Innsbruck . In 1990 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD. In 1995 the habilitation followed . In 1996/97 he was Academic Director of the Austrian Student Program. In 1999 he became an adjunct at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana and in 2006 at the University for Business and Technology in Pristina. In 2001 he received an extraordinary professorship at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Innsbruck. His main research interests include a. Right-wing populism and extremism in Austria , racism and anti-Semitism , the Austrian political system , comparative political science and political education .

In 1986 he became secretary of the Society for Political Enlightenment in Innsbruck. In 1993/94 he was a member of the board of the Austrian Society for Political Science .
