Reinhold Otto Steingräber (born  January 9, 1957 in Rostock , †  February 3, 2006 in Geesthacht ) was a German wrestler .

Life

Reinhold Steingräber, nickname Otto, was already successful in wrestling as a teenager with many titles in the youth and junior division. He achieved numerous successes and ran through the GDR national team in all age groups . In 1976 and 1978 he was GDR men's champion and 1980 vice European champion. In 1980 he started at the Olympic Games in Moscow and finished there in 9th place. In 1984 Steingräber ended his active sports career, during which he competed for ASK Vorwärts Frankfurt .

From 1984 to 2004 he was a coach for the Rostock Police Sports Club, which he led to the 1st Bundesliga . He was also the state trainer for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . Steingräber led various wrestlers to German championships in the individual weight classes and to five German team championships in the youth sector.

Reinhold Steingräber was the founder of the International Baltic Sea Cup, which was launched in the early 1990s and last took place in 1996. The Rostock ring sport revived this tradition in 2009.

Stone graves died of cancer that was discovered shortly before his death.
