Remo Giger (born June 30, 1988 ) is a former Swiss grass and alpine skier . He participated in a grass ski world championship and two junior world championships as well as in world cup races in the 2004 season.

Career

Giger drove his first FIS grass ski races in June 2003 in Traisen . His best result was 23rd place in the slalom. In mid-July he also started the FIS races in Urnäsch and achieved twelfth place in the slalom and 15th place in the Super-G. A week later he took part in the 2003 Junior World Championship in Goldingen . Here he reached 16th place in the slalom, 17th place in the Super-G and thus 14th place in the combination. Only in the giant slalom did he not finish. In September Giger also took part in the 2003 World Cup in Castione della Presolana . The only result he achieved was 25th in the Super-G.

Giger started the 2004 season again with the FIS races in Traisen. This year his best result was the 16th place in the slalom. At the end of August, he took part in World Cup races for the first and only time in Nové Město na Moravě . He reached 25th place in the Super-G and in the second giant slalom. In the first giant slalom, however, he did not finish. In the overall World Cup, the Swiss finished 40th. He did not take part in the 2004 Junior World Championships. In 2005, Giger's best result in FIS races was ninth in the Super-G in Urnäsch. At the Junior World Championships in 2005 in Nové Město na Moravě, he reached the best Swiss place seven in slalom and ninth place in giant slalom. In the Super-G, and therefore also in the combination, he was out. He has not competed in any grass ski races since 2006.

Until April 2007 Giger took part in competitions in alpine skiing . On March 22, 2007, he celebrated his only victory in an FIS race in the giant slalom in Splügen , and he was among the top ten three more times.
