Mira Glodeanu (* 1972 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian-French violinist specializing in historical performance practice .

Life

Mira Glodeanu trained as a modern violinist at the Bucharest Conservatory , with Nicolae Bilciurescu, Modest Iftinchi and the strings of "Quatuor Voces". She received her soloist diploma with the title “Highest Distinction”. After the fall of the communist regime, she got access to early music and historical performance practice for the first time. She first followed some master classes and had contact with musicians such as William Christie , Jordi Savall and Manfredo Kraemer . Then she decided to take up the baroque violin and performance practice with Sigiswald Kuijken in Brussels. While still a student she became a member of his ensemble La Petite Bande . After graduating, she was Kuijken's assistant for several years.

Over time, she has performed in concerts and recordings by the ensembles Les Arts Florissants , La Fenice, Il Seminario Musicale, Il Gardellino, L'Arpeggiata by Christina Pluhar , Le Poème Harmonique, Les Basses réunis and many others. In 1998 she founded the "Ensemble Ausonia" with the French harpsichordist Frédéric Haas , which was able to present several CD recordings that have received international awards.

She works regularly as concertmaster with the Collegium Vocale Gent , the Belgian baroque orchestra "Les Agrémens", the "Al Ayre Espagnol" in Saragossa, the "Poème Harmonique" under Vincent Dumestre and "La Fénice" under Jean Tubéry . Since 2012 she has been the director of the French ensemble PhilidOr .

She is a welcome guest at relevant international festivals, mainly in Belgium, France, Spain, Russia, Croatia and Romania.

Mira Glodeanu is professor of baroque violin in the French-speaking department of the Brussels Conservatory and visiting professor at the University of Salamanca . In addition, she holds several master classes every year in various European countries.

Their instruments are a French violin by Augustin Chappuy from 1750, which has largely been preserved in its original state, and a violin from 1604 by the Polish violin maker Marcin Groblicz from Kraków, a supposed student of Gasparo da Salò .
