Remove the Veil was a Christian metalcore band from Birmingham , Alabama .
history
Remove the Veil was founded in January 2005 by singer Michael Sasser, guitarists Pat Hood and Mark Hendrix, drummer Mark Coxwell and bassist Cliff McCall in Birmingham , Alabama .
After the band was able to win a competition in which the prize was a studio stay, the band produced their EP named after the band. Through this the label Facedown Records became aware of the band and signed them. Singer Michael Sasser left the group to join With Blood Comes Cleansing , whereupon Mark Hendrix became the singer. After the studio work for the debut album was over, Mark Coxwell and Cliff McCall got out. Toby Rose became the new drummer and Travis Hopkins replaced McCall on bass.
In October 2007, the US debut album was released on Facedown Records. In Germany , the album was released about a month later, in mid-November, via Cargo Records . A year after the album was released, the band broke up.
style
Remove the Veil played metalcore with southern rock influences . At times the music was comparable to Black Label Society and Hellyeah . The music has also been described as a mix of metal , hardcore, and southern rock.
