René Bünter (born May 21, 1969 ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ).

biography

René Bünter grew up in Lachen , where he still lives today. He is a qualified agronomist from the ETH Zurich . He was head of the agricultural advisory service in the canton of Zurich . From 1998 to 2000 and from 2008 he was a member of the Cantonal Council . He was considered an uncompromising critic of the government council's financial policy .

On March 20, 2016, he was elected to the government council of the canton of Schwyz . From July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2020 he was head of the Department of Environment. In the new office, too, contrary to the principle of collegiality , he represented a different opinion than the other government councilors. Bünter did not run for the 2020 general election.
