René Borjas (born December 23, 1897 in Montevideo , † December 16, 1931 there ) was a Uruguayan football player .

Striker "Tito" Borjas, who was initially active for Uruguay Onward , was a member of the Wanderers' squad in the Primera División at least in 1923, 1926, 1928, 1929 and 1931 . During this period he won the Uruguayan championship with the Wanderers in 1923 and 1931. The title of 1923 with the Atlético Wanderers was that of the parallel championship played by the Federación Uruguaya de Football (FUF) during the phase of the split in the organizational structure of Uruguayan football. He also won the 1924 Copa Río de La Plata with his team . Borjas scored a total of 61 goals in 128 games played for the Wanderers. This time with the Wanderers was interrupted in 1925 by an engagement with Nacional Montevideo , when he strengthened this team on its European tour.
National team
Borjas was also a member of the Uruguayan senior team . Overall, he completed from his debut on December 8, 1923 to his last game for the Celeste on June 13, 1928 seven internationals. He scored three hits. Borjas took part with the national team in the South American Championship in 1926 (two games, two goals). Uruguay won the title. At the 1928 Summer Olympics Borjas celebrated with the squad of Celeste finally his greatest career success. The team became Olympic champions. Borjas participated in two games of the Olympic tournament.
He was also used in the 1927 Copa Newton .
The Montevideo Wanderers, his former club, cite other statistics on Borja's national team career. He then scored 32 goals in 31 games.
