René Hamann-Boeriths (born on August 2, 1969 in Svendborg , born René Boeriths ) is a Danish handball coach who played for the Danish national team during his playing days .

Career

Player career

Hamann-Boeriths began playing handball in 1975 for the Danish club GOG Gudme , with whose men's team he later played in the Håndboldligaen . With GOG, the backcourt player won the Danish championship in 1992, 1995 and 1996. In the summer of 1996 he moved to the German Bundesliga club TSV Bayer Dormagen . After Hamann-Boeriths was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga with Dormagen in 1998 , he was immediately promoted again a year later.

Hamann-Boeriths returned to the Danish club GOG Gudme in summer 2000. In October 2001, the 110-time Danish national player was signed by the German Bundesliga club VfL Bad Schwartau . Hamann-Boeriths moved to the Danish first division club Skjern Håndbold in 2002 , where he ended his career a year later after winning the EHF Challenge Cup .

Coaching career

Hamann-Boeriths worked as an assistant coach at the Danish first division club Skjern Håndbold between 2002 and 2004. Then Hamann-Boeriths took over the coaching of the Danish third division club Sønderjysk Elitesport , where he also held the position of sports director. In October 2007 he broke his contract with Sønderjysk Elitesport and took over as coach from Fredericia HK . In summer 2009 he took over from Erik Veje Rasmussen at Aarhus GF . In 2010 he left Aarhus GF. In September 2010 he took over the coaching of the Danish second division club TM Tønder Håndbold . In 2012 he resigned from his coaching position at TM Tønder, who has since been relegated to the third-highest Danish division.

In the summer of 2013 Hamann-Boeriths was coach at the Norwegian first division club Drammen HK . He was released in October 2015. From November 2015 he worked in the youth division of Team Haderslev-Vojens as sports director. In the 2016/17 season he trained again TM Tønder Håndbold. Hamann-Boeriths coached the German women's Bundesliga club TuS Metzingen from July 2017 to April 2018 . Since the summer of 2019 he has been working as an assistant coach for the Danish second division team Skive fH.

Private

He is married to the former handball player Conny Hamann-Boeriths . His son Lasse Hamann-Boeriths plays for the Danish first division club Skjern Håndbold.
