René Nan

René Nan (* about 1932 † 30th January 2015 in Perpignan ) was a French jazz - drummer .

Nan, who came from Béziers , began his musical career in Paris after the war; there he played u. a. with Dexter Gordon , Kenny Clarke and Guy Lafitte . For many years he worked with Eddy Louiss and the chanson singer Claude Nougaro . In the 1970s he returned to his home region, where he appeared at the local level, including a. with the Brass Band of Michel Marre . In the field of jazz he was involved in seven recording sessions between 1962 and 1992. a. with Lou Bennett , Jef Gilson , Jacques Dejan and Benny Waters . He can also be heard on Claude Nougaro's albums.
