René Paul Marquet
René Paul Marquet (born July 5, 1875 in Port-Louis , France , † 1939 ) was a French sculptor .
Life
Marquet studied with Émmanuel Fontaine and Alexandre Falguière at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris .
He showed in 1909 at the Salon of the Société des Artistes Français , where he exhibited regularly, a plaster statue of a flag defended Zouaves with the dramatic title Jamais! ( German Never! ), for which he received a mention honorable and was elected a full member.
He was known for his in Art Nouveau style and the style of the Art Deco held statuettes .
