René Rapin (English studies)

René Rapin (born April 19, 1899 ; † April 1973 ) was a Swiss English specialist .

On October 30, 1956, Rapin gave his inaugural lecture on Reality and Imagination in the Work of Joseph Conrad at the Faculty of Literature at the University of Lausanne .

Rapin wrote about Charles Dickens several times . In 1959 he published Lausanne and some English Writers . He was a member of the Dickens Fellowship .

In 1966 he published a critical edition of the correspondence between Conrad and Marguerite Poradowska at Librairie Droz .
