René Schubert

René Schubert (born September 25, 1910 in Toulon , † May 16, 1976 in Nuremberg ) was a German internist.

Life

The University of Würzburg doctorate him in 1936 to Dr. med. Schubert is considered one of the founders of gerontology in the Federal Republic of Germany and was the first President (1966–1977) of the German Society for Gerontology . From 1970 he held the first chair for geriatrics ( geriatric medicine) in Germany at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen . He accompanied Heinrich Lübke on all major state visits. The award of the same name from the German Society for Aging Research is named after Schubert. Schubert had been a member of the Corps Bavaria Würzburg since 1930 . The Corps Franconia Tübingen awarded him the ribbon in 1961.
