René Serex

René Serex (* 1922 ; † 2011 ) was a Swiss diplomat .

Life

Serex entered the diplomatic service in 1944 and was between June 15, 1959 and 1960 administrator of the consulate in Singapore . After other assignments in the meantime, he became First Secretary of the Embassy at the Singapore Embassy on November 28, 1974, and Counselor at the Permanent Mission to the Council of Europe on February 28, 1977 .

Subsequently, on April 3, 1980, Serex became the interim charge of the embassy in Cameroon . He then became ambassador to Cameroon on February 3, 1982 as the successor to Walter Rieser and held this position until April 19, 1983, after which Jacques Rial became his successor there. Most recently, on July 5, 1983, he dissolved Hans Miesch as ambassador to Ireland and remained there until he retired on May 31, 1987, whereupon Charles Frédéric Hummel succeeded him.
