René Wadas (born October 30, 1969 in Berlin ) is a German master gardener and author.

Life

Wadas grew up with six siblings in Berlin-Kreuzberg , right next to Park Hasenheide . From 1987 to 1990 he completed an apprenticeship as an ornamental plant gardener in the gardening town of Wolfenbüttel , which he successfully completed. After serving as a journeyman, Wadas passed his master craftsman examination at the Hanover Chamber of Agriculture in 1995 . After managing a garden center for two years , he began his independent work as a “plant doctor” in 1997, influenced by his role model Marie-Luise Kreuter .

Wadas trains employees of nurseries and hardware stores across Germany as well as farmers and biologists and helps hobby gardeners if they have problems with their plants. Pests, vermin and plant diseases are his specialty; when treating the plants he works without the use of chemical agents.

Wadas is a regular guest on talk shows. Several reports were shot about him. The NDR broadcast a multi-part series about his work as a plant doctor under the title gardening of course .

Wada's non-fiction books were published by Rowohlt Verlag , the trademark "Pflanzenarzt" was registered as a European trademark by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in 2018 . Jointly developed with a Brunswick company Wada plant tonic that the use of chemical pesticides should do in Garden superfluous.

Wadas lives with his family in Börßum in Lower Saxony .
