Dealing with the self-evident and the utmost that a person can be. Contemplating and talking about Thomas Aquinas - in the double tradition of natural law and existential philosophy - he explores the question of how freedom and order come together in existence, how one can live independently without losing oneself. In his book Philosophy of Life. Ethical thinking between existential philosophy and constructivism, he understands philosophy less as a science of knowledge than a medium that helps us to find our balance. Philosophy, in this sense, reminds us that at no moment do we have the conditions of our existence. We can only answer these at a time. Here, paradoxically, consists of our only minimal, on the other hand, inalienable freedom.

Weiland participated in research projects at the Technical University of Berlin and the University of Vienna . He was also a visiting lecturer at the Free University of Berlin . René Weiland also worked as an author and consultant for the RIAS Radio University and as an editor for “Litfass. Journal of Literature ”. Since 2018 he has headed the Philosophical Discussion Group What Makes Us Think? What does it mean to follow your own thinking? at the VHS Tempelhof-Schöneberg. He lives in Berlin.
