Renée Saint-Cyr

Renée Saint-Cyr (born November 16, 1904 in Beausoleil , Alpes-Maritimes , France , † July 11, 2004 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ; actually Marie-Louise Vittore ) was a French actress.

Life

As the daughter of an opera singer, she began her artistic career as a singer and won a first prize at the Conservatory of Marseille . In the early 1930s she turned to film. At the height of her career from 1932 to 1943 she played numerous leading roles. Later she was cast in supporting roles as a mature, distinguished lady. She was the mother of director Georges Lautner and starred in ten of his films. In Jean-Michel Ribes' television series Palace , she appeared regularly in the role of a daring "guardian of good taste".
