Renate Grasberger

Renate Grasberger (* 1941 in Vienna ) is an Austrian musicologist .

Renate Grasberger studied ceramics at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and art history at the University of Vienna . In 1960 she began library training at the Austrian National Library . From 1964 to 1966 it was in the local music collection and then until 1976 at the library of the Federal Ministry of Finance . From 1978 to 2006 she worked at the Anton Bruckner Institute Linz (ABIL) in Linz and Vienna. Grasberger has been volunteering for the Anton Bruckner Project at the Commission for Music Research (KMf) since 2007 .

Her research focuses on bibliography , iconography and documentation of the life's work of the composer Anton Bruckner . Her most important publication is the Anton Bruckner catalog raisonné (WAB), published in 1977 , the first systematic catalog raisonné on Bruckner. As part of her work at the KMf, she is currently working on a second edition of the WAB. The three-volume Bruckner iconography is also significant.

Renate Grasberger was married to the musicologist Franz Grasberger (1915–1981).
