Renate Meyer (athlete)

Renate Meyer , b. Rose (born January 6, 1938 in Hanover ), is a former German athlete and Olympic participant who - starting for Germany - won the silver medal at the European Championships in 1966 with the German 4 x 100 meter relay (44.5 p : Renate Meyer, Hannelore Trabert , Karin Frisch , Jutta Stöck ).

At the Olympic Games in 1964 , she was injured in the 100-meter intermediate race.

At the Olympic Games in 1968 , she finished sixth (43.6 s) with the 4 x 100 meter relay and was eliminated in the 100 meter intermediate run.

With the 4 x 100 meter relay , she was three times German champion (1963, 1964 and 1968), runner-up in 1965 and 1967 and third in 1966. In 1964 she won her only individual title at the German championships over 100 meters. There is also a runner-up (1965) and third place (1968) over this distance.

Renate Meyer initially belonged to the sports club Hannover 96 , from 1968 to the OSC Berlin . In her competition time she was 1.65 m tall and 54 kg heavy.

For her services to sport in Lower Saxony , she was included in the Lower Saxony Sports Honor Gallery of the Lower Saxony Institute for Sports History.
