Renate Wagner-Redding

Renate Wagner-Redding (born on 1946 in Hanover ) is the chairwoman of the Jewish Community in Braunschweig .

Career

Wagner-Redding was born in Hanover and has lived in Braunschweig since 1955. In 1993 she was elected chairwoman of the Jewish Community in Braunschweig. Since 2000 she has also been a member of the board of the regional association of Jewish communities in Lower Saxony .

During her term of office, the new building of the Braunschweig synagogue was inaugurated in 2006 and she organized numerous interreligious dialogue events.

Awards

For her longstanding commitment to the Jewish community in Braunschweig and the Christian-Jewish understanding, she was awarded the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany in December 2012 .
