Renate Winklbauer (born September 15, 1948 ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1989 to 2005, Winklbauer was a member of the state parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council and from 2005 to 2006 she was the district head of the 22nd district of Vienna, Donaustadt .

After Gertrude Stiehl's departure, Winklbauer moved to the Vienna State Parliament and City Council on December 15, 1989, where she was active on the Culture and Science Committee as well as the Urban Development and Transport Committee. After the sudden death of district chairman Franz-Karl Effenberg , Winklbauer resigned from the state parliament and municipal council on February 24, 2005 and switched to district politics, where she was elected to the office of district chairwoman of the Donaustadt on February 24, 2005. At the beginning of her term of office, Winklbauer announced that she would be committed to the further settlement of businesses and to promote the development of the Aspern airfield. She also planned the construction of new grammar schools and other schools. However, Winklbauer was soon criticized for having ordered office furniture for 22,000 euros, even though the premises of the district council had been renovated and equipped with new furniture only two years earlier. As a result, Norbert Scheed was brought into play as his successor, who finally succeeded Winklbauer on June 22, 2006 as district head.
