The Rennerbaude ( Rennerova bouda in Czech) was a lodging house in the Czech part of the Giant Mountains , which, along with the meadow chalet, was a stage destination for the ascent of the Schneekoppe .

The hut was built in 1795 in a promising location at an altitude of 1424 m above sea level. Erected NN east of the goat back . It became known to music lovers in particular as the setting for the opera Des Adlers Horst by Franz Gläser, which premiered in 1832 .

After the German troops marched into the border areas of Czechoslovakia in October 1938, the Rennerbaude was set on fire by the Czechoslovak military. In contrast to the neighboring Wiesenbaude, there was no reconstruction. The former location of the Rennerbaude can still be clearly seen in the area today.

Three stylized red gables standing next to each otherThe symbol shown on the left with three stylized red house gables standing next to each other is a so-called " silent sign " ( Němé značky in Czech ), with which the poles of the winter marking to the Rennerbaude were marked from 1923 . Today the same symbol is used for Rýchorská bouda, about 15 km away as the crow flies.
