Repeating weapon
A repeater weapon (also repeater for short ) is a firearm in which the ammunition is reloaded from a magazine into the chamber using a manually operated mechanism . The word "repetieren" comes from the Latin repetere , which means something like "repeat".

The German gun law ( gun law ) defines bolt action weapons as follows:
"Repeating weapons; These are firearms in which, after a shot has been fired, ammunition is reloaded from a magazine into the chamber via a manually operated mechanism. "
history
Due to the use of cartridge ammunition, early repeating weapons were the first functional and practical multi-loader weapons . In contrast to the single-shot breech-loading weapons , the successors of the muzzle-loading weapons , each cartridge no longer had to be inserted individually by hand into the chamber.
The next developmental step was the automation of the repeating process, by utilizing the recoil energy or the gases produced in the shot, to create a self-loading weapon .
Weapon assignment
The repeating weapons include handguns , such as bolt action rifles , forearm bolt action rifles and, more rarely, bolt action pistols , as well as compressed air weapons such as multi-loader air rifles and air pistols .

- Lever action ( English lever action )
- Forearm repeater (English pump or slide action )
use
Repeating weapons are used in the fields of hunting, sports and the military and police. Due to their relatively simple mechanical structure, these weapons are among the most reliable with a high degree of precision.
