The Republic Education Center for Energy Economists (lit. VšĮ Respublikinis energetikų mokymo centras , REMC ) is a training center in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius , the largest vocational school in the energy industry and adult education institution in Lithuania. The legal form is viešoji įstaiga . There are 163 employees (2014). Around 7,000 people study at the center every year. The center is located in the Jeruzalė district . The center has departments in Vilnius, Kaunas , Klaipėda , Šiauliai , Panevėžys and Utena . In the Energy Training Center, specialists in occupational safety and lifting equipment, workers in the electricity and gas industry , specialists in welding work , and employees in the thermal energy sector are prepared.
The educational center was established in 1964 in Soviet Lithuania . There used to be 300 teachers and 10,000 students. The center was headed by Gintaras Vilda from 2009 and then by Nona Malakauskienė until July 2013. From March 5, 1996 to December 29, 2001, the center was a branch of the energy company AB “ Lietuvos energija ”.
