Res Schmid (politician)
Res Schmid (born February 25, 1958 in Interlaken ; legal resident in Wimmis ), bourgeois Andreas Schmid , is a Swiss politician ( SVP ).
Life
Schmid completed an apprenticeship as a toolmaker from 1974 to 1978, and in 1978 he trained as a military pilot and became a test pilot . After the Swiss Air Force in the early nineties, multi-role combat aircraft of the type McDonnell Douglas F / A-18 Hornet had bought Res Schmid was the first pilot who steered such.
He lives in Emmetten , where he took over the presidency of the local section of the Swiss People's Party in 2001. In 2002 he was elected to the district administrator of the canton of Nidwalden , which he presided over in 2009/10. He has been a member of the Government Council since 2010 , where he acts as Director of Education and Deputy Director of Health and Social Affairs. In the 2014/2015 year of office, Schmid held the office of Landammann of the Canton of Nidwalden.
Schmid is married and has two children.
