The UN Security Council Resolution 5 is a resolution that the United Nations Security Council on May 8, 1946 in its 40th session with ten votes and one abstention (the Soviet Union ) decided. She deals with the situation in Iran .

content

The Security Council took note of a report by the Iranian government dated May 6, 1946, tabled as a result of Resolution 3 of April 4, 1946, according to which it could not be determined whether the complete withdrawal of Soviet troops from the state of Iran was completed .

The Security Council postponed future steps on the Iranian issue in order to enable the Iranian government to verify the full withdrawal of troops.

The Iranian government was expected to report on the issue as soon as possible. If this was not possible, a report should be submitted on May 20 with the information available by then.

The Security Council planned to discuss further steps immediately after receiving the report.
