The resolution 751 of the UN Security Council of 24 April 1992 deals with - from civil war and famine drawn - Situation in Somalia and includes the authorization of the peacekeeping operation UNOSOM .

The resolution makes reference to previous resolutions 733 and 746 as well as the report of the Secretary-General of April 21 and 24. It welcomes the signing of a ceasefire agreement in Mogadishu on March 3 and authorizes the deployment of the United Nations Operation in Somalia I - consisting of 50 observers and security forces - to monitor it. A Security Council committee will be set up to oversee the implementation of the arms embargo on Somalia under Resolution 733. The Security Council also expressed its appreciation for the humanitarian organizations active in Somalia and for the cooperation with the Arab League , the Organization for African Unity (OAU) and the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). All states are called upon to support humanitarian aid in Somalia.

The resolution was passed unanimously by the United Nations Security Council at its 3069th session.
