Retrograde - War on the Ice Planet is a 2004 American sci-fi / action film directed by Christopher Kulikowski and starring Dolph Lundgren . The film was released directly on DVD in Germany on April 20, 2006 .

In 2204 the earth is contaminated by a deadly alien virus. Only a few people on earth with a special immune system survived. Foster, Dalton and their crew are sent back in time 200 years to prevent and destroy a meteorite harboring the virus. But Dalton has plans of his own and eventually takes command.
Foster manages to land on Earth, but cannot escape Dalton. It comes to a duel in which Dalton comes into contact with the meteorite and Foster is injured. Foster is rescued by the crew of an icebreaker.
The icebreaker scientists examine the meteorite and unknowingly become infected. Meanwhile, Dalton and his men try to stop Foster, but Foster escapes and destroys all the fragments of the meteorite. He travels a little further into the past to save one of the researchers, and then returns to his time.
