Joseph Merhi (director)
Joseph Toufik Merhi (born June 1, 1953 in Southampton , England ) is a British film director and producer . Merhi founded the film company City Lights in 1984 with Richard Pepin , which was later renamed PM Entertainment . In 2000 PM Entertainment was sold and had to close soon after. Merhi is known for making action films for the direct-to-DVD market, which often feature car chases and large, spectacular explosions.
After 1997 and the film Executive Target , Merhi decided to focus more on making direct-to-DVD films. In 2007 he directed the film Oranges for the first time in ten years.
