The Rettensee is a small mineral lake in the Loisach-Kochelsee moors . It has no above-ground inflows or outflows and is only fed by groundwater. The lake is approx. 50 m wide.

The Benedictine monastery Benediktbeuern once had the fishing rights for the lake.

The Rettensee can be reached without any signage from the Prälatenweg from Benediktbeuern.

Other small lakes in the Loisach-Kochelsee moors are Eichsee , Rohrsee , Fichtsee , Höllsee and Karpfsee .
