The Prälatenweg was an approximately 145 km long long- distance hiking trail that crossed the Swabian and Upper Bavarian foothills in a west-east direction. The path was marked with two bishop's staff. As a marked hiking trail, it was given up again in 2014 and the signage was largely removed.

The route led from Marktoberdorf via Bertoldshofen and the 1055  m high Auerberg to Lechbruck . You got to Weilheim via Steingaden , the famous Wieskirche and Rottenbuch . Other places along the way were Bernried and Seeshaupt on Lake Starnberg , Penzberg and Benediktbeuern with its monastery . The end point was Kochel am See .
