Rettigheim is a district of the municipality of Mühlhausen in Baden-Württemberg . Rettigheim is about 20 kilometers southeast of Heidelberg in the hills of the Kraichgau.

history

The place was first mentioned in the Lorsch Codex in 788 as Radinchheim and later belonged to the Odenheim monastery . The Roman Catholic Diocese of Speyer acquired the 1338 with the bailiwick of the manor on the site. In 1546 it then acquired all rights to rule. Due to its affiliation with Speyer, Rettigheim remained Catholic even during the Reformation. In 1803 Rettigheim came to Baden. On January 1, 1972, Rettigheim was incorporated into Mühlhausen.

The coat of arms of Rettigheim shows a green shamrock, which was also adopted as an element in the municipal coat of arms of Mühlhausen.

Catholic St. Nicholas Church in Rettigheim

The Catholic parish church of St. Nikolaus in Rettigheim was built in the late classical style in 1823/24. In 1956 it was expanded.
