Karl Göckel (* 1957 in Malschenberg ) is a German master organ builder in Epfenbach .

life and work

Göckel learned organ building at Orgelbau Vleugels in Hardheim and then deepened his knowledge in France and Switzerland. In 1983 he passed his master craftsman examination and set up his own workshop in Malsch (near Wiesloch) . In 1996 a new company building was inaugurated in Rettigheim. After GF Steinmeyer & Co. had ceased operations , Karl Göckel acquired the workshop building including furnishings and the name "Steinmeyer Orgelbau Inh. Karl Göckel" in 2001. All employees were taken over.

Göckel mainly builds organs in the symphonic style. In addition to other innovations, he has further developed the Barker machine and equipped it with a patented reset aid. In addition to new buildings, restorations are also carried out.
