The area Mattlerbusch is a recreation park in Duisburg municipality Hamborn on the outskirts of Oberhausen .

The idea of the Revierpark goes back to a concept of the settlement association Ruhrkohlen district . However, the idea was not implemented until the 1970s by the Ruhr Area Municipal Association.

The park in the north of Duisburg was only created in 1979 around the historic Mattlerhof as the last of the five district parks in the Ruhr area . The area of the park is 45 hectares. Together with the green areas and allotments to the west, the recreation area covers an area of almost 80 hectares.

The park with its large trees, extensive meadows and a natural lake offers a wide range of leisure activities: the Niederrhein- Therme as a modern leisure pool with a graduation tower , a salt grotto and sauna area as well as other playgrounds and sports fields. A specially set up wet biotope offers a habitat for rare plants . Events take place regularly in the Mattlerhof. The farm's brewery is particularly popular . The riding stables offer pony rides and covered wagon rides. It is an excursion point for nearby schools to show the children how to handle farm animals.

In recent years the site has been reforested, renovated and partly modernized. The original forest was preserved. You can go for a leisurely walk, especially in summer, sit on a bench in the countryside, ride a bike or use the existing “keep-fit” path. The Revierpark is often used by people from the nearby settlements on the Duisburg and Oberhausen side. Due to its location and its range of leisure and relaxation opportunities, it is also a magnet for people outside of Duisburg.

As a special feature, the DVG bus line 905 is allowed to cross the park area on its way from Duisburg-Fahrn to Oberhausen-Holten .
