The Rex T. Barber Veterans Memorial Bridge is a four-lane highway bridge over the Crooked River north of Terrebonne in the state of Oregon of the United States . It is part of US Highway 97 in Oregon, known as The Dalles-California Highway and renamed World War II Veterans Historic Highway in 2009 . The bridge was named after the veteran Rex T. Barber from the Jefferson County named who in World War II during Operation Vengeance on launch of the 1943 Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto was involved. When it was completed in 2000, it replaced the downstream two-lane Crooked River High Bridge from 1926, which is now open to pedestrians.

The Rex T. Barber Veterans Memorial Bridge is a 163 m long double-hinged arch bridge made of reinforced concrete with a box girder that guides the carriageway and is 24.1 m wide on top. The arch has a span of 125 m and a width of 13.1 m. He was using sliding forms simultaneously from both sides with a re-transferred to Hilfsabspannungen cantilever built. In order for the bridge to blend in better with the landscape, the construction was given a colored seal . The bridge was designed by DGES Consulting Engineers for the Oregon Department of Transportation , construction began in 1997 and opened in September 2000.
