Rhipsalis juengeri is a species of plant in the genus Rhipsalis from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet juengeri honors Ernst Jünger .

description

Rhipsalis juengeri grows epiphytically with shoots of limited growth and reaches a length of up to 3 meters. Compound areoles sit on the shoot tips . The hardly succulent, rotating shoots are twofold. The main shoots are up to 2 meters and have a diameter of 3 millimeters. The short, green side shoots reach a diameter of 1 to 2 millimeters

The bell-shaped, white flowers appear singly or in pairs at or near the shoot tips. They are up to 15 millimeters long and measure 12 millimeters in diameter. The spherical, trimmed fruits are purple to greenish and tinged with brown.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Rhipsalis juengeri is distributed in the south of the Brazilian state of São Paulo at altitudes of 700 to 1600 meters.

It was first described in 1995 by Wilhelm Barthlott and Nigel Paul Taylor .

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
