Rhipsalis cuneata is a species of plant in the genus Rhipsalis from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Rhipsalis cuneata grows epiphytically and shrubby with more or less drooping shoots with unlimited growth, which branch acrotonically . The green, thin, flattened shoots are elongated to spatulate and wedge-shaped at their base. They are 8 to 12 inches long and up to 7 inches wide. The edge is deeply lobed to notched. The areoles are covered with one or two bristles.

The individual flowers have not yet been described. The spherical fruits are white. The species is not well known.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Rhipsalis cuneata is distributed in the Brazilian states of Minas Gerais , Rio de Janeiro , São Paulo , Paraná and Santa Catarina in forests up to altitudes of 2000 meters.

The first description was in 1923 by Nathaniel Lord Britton and Joseph Nelson Rose . A synonym is Rhipsalis occidentalis Barthlott & Rauh .

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
