David Rhodes (* 1990 ), usually just called Rhodes , is a British musician from Hitchin in Hertfordshire .

Career

David Rhodes was around 11 years old when he started playing guitar. For a long time he only practiced playing other musicians before he began a musical career with his own music at the age of 23. His first release was the EP Raise Your Love , which Charlie Fink, the singer of Noah and the Whale , helped out. He was also a support act for musicians such as Laura Marling , Rufus Wainwright and London Grammar . The producers of the latter band were also involved in his second EP Morning .

Two more EPs followed before he had his first chart success in his home country in the summer of 2015 with the single Close Your Eyes . The single was a precursor to his debut album Wishes , which was released in the fall of the same year. There was also a duet with the singer Birdy , which was a minor hit across Europe. The song Let It All Go was particularly successful in Switzerland, where it was awarded gold . In addition to Great Britain and Switzerland, the album also hit the charts in Germany.
